The aim of the course is to introduce those who are new to firearms and to refresh those who may be returning to the sport. A one-day course on the handling and safe shooting requirements to meet the reasonable expectations relating to public safety. Classroom based, followed by some range shooting of varied calibres at our House of Schivas range, At the end of the day participants will receive a certificate of competency.

Option 1
Group of 4 (Max), 4 hour session including refreshments (Hot/Cold) and snacks £325 (4 shooters)
- Air Rifle/Pistol – Instruction, 10 shots each on Target Board, further 10 shots at different ranges to show ballistic curve. then on to competition of 10 targets on the field target set up.
- Rimfire – Instruction, 10 shots each on the target board/ Plates. Then onto competition of 10 shots, best score wins.
- Clays – Instruction, practical instruction to break clays. Move on to competition, best of 5 shots, wins.
- Centre Fire – instruction, 2 sighting rounds each, then 3 shot group on clean target.

Running Boar
50 shots per person £33. Thereafter additional 50 shots at £11 per person.

I selected the rifle safety/familiarisation course run by Mike and Dave as a step to building a portfolio of experience/evidence prior to applying for my own firearms license. The course content and activities were far more than I had anticipated.
They put together a very detailed program followed by a considerable range of practical demonstrations and target practice in a variety of settings with various firearms.
I really appreciated their close attention, patience, detailed knowledge and professionalism.
As a non-native English speaker they were extremely accommodating to ensure I understood the subject matter.
Mike and Dave clearly wanted to provide a professional, welcoming and supportive environment.
The course is exceptional value and I came away feeling I had received a huge injection of knowledge. It was a perfect start. It gave me a lot of confidence and a hunger to continue.
